I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly happening.
